Oats Dates milk shake is a very simple but really a tasty milkshake recipe.
As the name says the main ingredient to make this milk shake is oats, and dates. For additional taste I have added almonds and honey for sweetness.
This milk shake is really a filling recipe and perfect to have for breakfast.
You can even add cashews and pistachios for additional taste while giving to kids.

Actually no one will even identify the mian ingrdient of this shake is oats. And the sweetness from dates itself will be enough, but I want it to be little more sweet, so added honey. Instead you can add sugar/brown sugar/jaggery too.

OATS DATES MILKSHAKE
SOAKING TIME: 10 MINS | PREPARATION TIME: 5 MINS | COOKING TIME: -

INGREDIENTS:
                                    ¼  cup oats
                                    6 unseeded dates
                                    Honey as needed
                                    10 almonds
                                    1/8 teaspoon cinnamon powder
                                    2 cups chilled milk
                                    Dates syrup for garnishing(optional)
                                   
PREPARATION:
Soak the almonds in hot water for 10minutes.
Then peel the skin and keep it ready.
Remove the seeds from the dates and keep aside.
If the dates are so dry, you can soak it also in warm water for 10 minutes.
Boil and then chill the milk in refrigerator. Or else you can use warm milk and add few ice cubes while blending.

METHOD:
In a blender jar, take oats and dates first,and grind it into smooth powder, you can even add almonds too in this stage.
Then add the milk, honey, almonds, cinnamon powder and blend well.
If you are using ice cubes add that too and blend for few seconds.
Simple, helathy oats milkshake is ready to serve.
You can serve with cream on the top if you like.

NOTES:

  • Grinding the oats and dates first is to ensure them to grind into smooth.
  • As I don’t want to add the ice cubes, I have added chilled milk.
  • If the dates are so dry, you can soak it also in warm water for 10 minutes.
  • Boil and then chill the milk in refrigerator. Or else you can use warm milk and add few ice cubes while blending.
  • You can ad the almonds too while grinding the oats and dates, to make it smooth. If you add it with milk, you can get few small pieces of almonds while drinking the milk shake.
  • For additional flavour you can dry roast the oats and then use.
